MISE EN PLACE

Friends Artspace is excited to open our second season with Mise En Place, a celebration of tablescape design. We invited each artist to create their own placesetting, along with candelabras, serving trays, stemware, butter dishes, vases, pitchers, chairs, cake stands. Mise En Place has everything, even a punchbowl, for a mythic dinner party.
One of our most beautiful inheritances is gathering for communal meals. And every host knows that an exquisitely designed dinnerscape lasts longer than ephemeral conversations. People come and go but glassware is basically forever.
The exhibition brings together the work of Bia Furtado, Braxton Congrove, Catherine Satterlee, Dannia Hakki, Emily Counts, Eun-ha Paek, Francesca DiMattio, Grace Whiteside, Hadiya Williams, Hannah Lim, Isabel Rower, Lane Walkup, Laura Chautin, Madeline Donahue, Maria Lenskjold, Mathieu Frossard, Michele Mirisola, Michelle Im, Minh Singer, Nienke Sikkema, Saraï Delfendahl and Tadeas Podracky. Everything is in its right place.
